Where do sheep go on vacation?…the Baaaahamas!
It is the Wednesday before our spring break starts here in Oregon, and just like the kindergarten teacher in the booking.com commercial, “NOTHING means more to me than my vacation…”If you’ve been following our blog than you know Ryan and I run a home-based daycare/preschool together.
We try to take a week off a few times a year just to unwind and get away from the house for a few days. Just like every other anticipated vacation, Spring break takes it’s sweet time getting here!
With my mind on vacation this week I’ve been having this conversation with Ryan about what is better… Vacation? Or the anticipation of vacation? As much as I hate to wait, having a trip booked on the calendar does wonders for my ability to cope with the daily grind. Ryan will say, being on vacation every time. This makes for another quirky discussion for us.
As good as that first day feels, coming back to reality isn’t easy. I don’t know if your like me but while on vacation I have this constant count down in my mind of how many days are left. 5 days(yay!), 4… 3… 2( dread setting in)… 1(uh-oh). I try to turn that countdown off and just enjoy the trip till the last second, but it’s still there.
This spring break we will be spending a few days in Central Oregon. The weather isn’t looking too promising but it will be a great escape just the same. We are making our bucket list of plans for the week tonight and I am excited! A few high points for me…
- swimming at the #sharc (Sunriver’s community pool)
- a visit to the Nature Center in Sunriver
- High Desert Museum
- Sunriver Brewery
- nature walks
- bike rides (if the weather holds out)
Three days left of work, we got this! And I’m off to go start the day. Have a great day! Thanks for reading and showing interest in our family blog.
