Do you have your summer festivals, concerts and outdoor activities booked? Don’t forget to make those reservations… so many times Ryan and I have waited until the last minute only to find No Vacancy.
So this week as we inch closer to summer, Ryan and I are busy making our summer fun list and hoping to put it all on our calendar. Lots of fun does require an element of planning. So here is what we are working on…
Birding And Blues Pacific City April 20-22
Pacific City is located North of Lincoln City and from Eugene it is about a 2.5 hour drive. This year will mark the 14th year of the festival, celebrating migratory birds and blues music. Ryan and I love blues but this year will be our first year checking out this particular festival. We love the Thousand Trails Campground on the outskirts of town and we will be staying there in our tent trailer’s first outing this year. We are excited!
Rhododendron Festival In Florence May 18-20
This festival on the Oregon Coast has been going on since before I was born and brings this sleepy coastal town to life with carnival rides, a parade, pageant, and car show. But what Ryan and I really enjoy is the people watching. The festival draws in tons of bikers and they line their Harleys all along the streets of Old Town by the waterfront. We will be camping at the South Jetty Thousand Trails and heading into to town for the fun.
Michael Franti At the Cuthbert Amphitheater June 22
If you enjoy outdoor concerts and a laidback crowd that is unique to Eugene Oregon, this outdoor venue won’t disappoint. We saw Michael Franti last year at the amphitheater for the first time and he was a highlight to our summer. We can’t wait to see him again! Last year, he had a potluck before the concert at Alton Baker Park where everyone was welcome to bring a yoga mat and join him, stretching before his show.
Family Vacation to Sunriver Thousand Trails
Summer reservations fill up fast at campgrounds in Oregon, and Thousand Trails Parks are no exception. We spend at least 2 weeks every year at one of the Thousand Trails parks in our state. Here is a link to some of our trips. If you haven’t made your reservations, Id get that calendar out and get busy!
Country Fair July 13-15
Where do I start with the Oregon Country Fair? This is The Event for Hippie festivals and is located just East of Eugene near Veneta. Ryan and I haven’t made it in a long time, the last few years we’ve been camping in Central Oregon. Bu this year we are determined to buy our tickets as soon as they are available!
Balloons Over Bend July 28th
Last year we attended a night glow balloon festival in Sunriver, Oregon. So this year we are planning on making it to the celebration in Bend. Friday night is the night glow and Saturday at sunrise they all take to the sky. Should be spectacular!
These are our families plans, lined up for summer, with some minor details to still work out. 🤔
Whenever we have scheduled fun time on the calendar, it really gives me that light at the end of the tunnel. You’ve got to have some excitement coming your way!
Oh, and one minor detail…would anyone be willing to water our garden? 🤪(Lol) ✌️
