I came across this book tag from Miss Littlewood Reads, and it seemed like a fun way to share more about myself and my reading habits. I would love it if any of you want to have some fun with answering the questions too!
Do you have a certain place at home for reading?
Yes, Ryan and I have a sofa that has 2 recliners on each end and I usually always read on my side when I am at home, but I also love to read when we are camping or wherever we are. I never leave home without at least one book. I think of it like a first aid kit, in the event of an emergency I will need something to read.
Bookmark or random piece of paper?
I could go either way on this. I like bookmarks but I always seem to lose them. The last time I moved my couch I found 2 under my seat. haha So I usually use whatever I can find. I try not to ear mark the pages, so often times my bookmark is some type of receipt.
Can you just stop reading or do you have to stop after the end of a chapter or certain amount of pages?
I can stop reading anywhere.
Do you eat or drink while reading?
I love to drink tea or coffee in the mornings or a glass of red wine 🍷 in the evenings. Ryan jokes that I always have 3 drinks near me, and he is right. I always have something I should be drinking, water. I always have something I shouldn’t be drinking, like soda(which I have been without for 2 weeks now), and I always have something in between the two like tea or Vitamin Water. I am weirdo, I know. But I can say that I do not eat while I am reading, just lots and lots of drinking!
Multitasking: Music or TV while reading?
When I was younger I used to listen to music, but now that my life is nonstop noise and busyness, I cherish my quiet moments. I have never watched tv while reading, but I will often read or write next to Ryan on the couch while he is watching TV. We have a tv in almost all the rooms in our house but I never really watch anything for myself.
One book at a time or several at once?
This depends on the type of book. I will only read one book of fiction at a time, but I will occasionally add in a self-help book or something on nutrition, plus I often will read books aloud with my children. Joey and I have been working on The Series Of Unfortunate Events.
Reading at home or everywhere?
This is an easy one for me… EVERYWHERE! I can read in the car and on a train, in a tree and with a fox.. I can read anywhere! I belong to audibles.com so I will listen to a couple audio books each month too. So when I am out running errands I will play one while I am driving around.
Reading out loud or silently in your head?
I only read out loud several times a day! hahaha When I am reading to our daycare or my boys. I don’t read out loud for myself.
Do you read ahead or even skip some pages?
I never skip pages or skip ahead, but I probably should because I am a fairly slow reader.
Breaking the spine or keeping it like new?
I am all about function and comfort so breaking the spine it is! This just makes it easier to read. Worrying about the condition of the books I read is something that I never really worry about.
Do you write in your books?
Not usually, but I do have some reference books that I have wrote in. For example homeschooling books I have wrote notes in and highlighted certain areas I want to reference again.
I hope you will give this book tag a shot if you haven’t yet, tag me in it and I will come take a peak! Thanks for reading…
