📚WWW What are you reading?

📚Another crazy week

This week was not my best week for reading. I am almost through with The Sun is Also a Star, but not quite. It’s a quick YA read, it’s just the boys have been having some issues this week(which I think we’re on top of now), and it took its toll on me.

For those of you that don’t know, my two boys that are still at home, Joey(10yrs) and Jayden(8 yrs). Joey has some learning issues so he is home schooled and Jayden has developmental disabilities and attends an inclusive classroom nearby.

Both of them together create some really challenging moments at times for Ryan and I, but we’re getting through it. Which brings me to my reading, my sanity and my back door escape when life’s too stressful…

📚What I’m reading now

I’m reading The Sun Is Also A Star By Nicola Yoon. I started this YA book last week 3E31704E-1EE0-41B1-B3E5-C068DE7591F7and I’m just being slow on my reading. I haven’t had much time to read, but I’m almost done with it. It’s about a teenage Jamaican girl that is soon to be deported back to Jamaica, when she reluctantly meets a boy that really reaches out to her, and she finds herself enjoying his company.

The other book that I’ve started listening to in the car, because I bought my son the audio for it is Percy Jackson and the Olympians by Rick Riordan. I am only a few chapters in, but it is getting really interesting and I can’t wait to pick it back up. It may be bumped up to my next read.

📚What I just finished reading

Fangirl by Rainbow Rowell I talked about last week. It was an enjoyable read about F3DEEE5B-ED96-4B02-B3CB-146AFFA8EE8Ccollege life as a twin and introduced me to fan fiction which I’d never heard of before. It was really relatable as an introvert myself, to read the struggles of going away to college. I won’t go into much detail, but if your interested you can read my brief review last week.

📚What I’ve been reading at story time

On a preschool note, here are a few of my story time selections this week, just to throw in some picture book fun! Every Little Thing by Bob Marley is my most surprising book lately. The children adore this story and sing along to the chorus! I’m a pretty big preschool book fan, so I might be adding this section in as well each week. Let me know what you think?

📚What I’m hoping to read next?

So I have two books that are waiting on me, Percy Jackson 5FE5A0FF-B7A0-4F9F-8139-FCFA2B7B98DDand the Bone Witch by Rin Chupeco. The Bone Witch has been sitting very near me for a week now just waiting patiently. It went camping with me the past two weekends, and I’ve literally not even cracked the book open yet. It is starting to drive me crazy. It’s like a Christmas present that I’m not allowed to open yet!!😳

DE56E090-A984-4703-B0E3-BA4E70DF5405My goal this week is to get back on track with my reading. Unfortunately it’s  supposed to be a rainy weekend coming up, so our camping plans have been canceled. This means less time packing, packing, packing…. 🤪

So cross your fingers for me!🤞🏻 What are you reading this week? Has anything been keeping you from your reading plans? Drop me a comment, I’d love to hear…

Thanks for reading and have a great hump day!☀️

  1. I am reading City of Toys by Lindy S. Hudis. About 4 young women trying to make it in Hollywood. It is not the fluffy all dreams come true type of style but more of how the world of acting can chew you up and spit you out. That there are unscrupulous people that will use your dreams against you. I am on page 209 and only began reading it on Sunday. I recommend it but not for anyone under 18 as there are sexual situations and drug use explained.
