📚WWW Wednesday’s

📚Here’s to a new week of reading…

What has been on your reading list this past week? Have the pages been flying by? The more I dig into your book reviews, the quicker my current read keeps moving past me faster than ever! That is pretty cool for this slow reader! 🤓

📚What have you just finished reading?image

I finished up Percy Jackson’s The Lightning Thief by Rick Riordan. This is a book I should have read my boys years ago. I’m sure most of you have already read the entire series. I’m always a bit behind. 😳I loved the mythical creatures and Greek Gods. It was fun and fast paced for maybe a 5th or 6th grade level read, I’m guessing.

Currently I am about halfway through Gunslinger Girl by Lindsay Ely. It is a cute story about a futuristic Wild West.

Gunslinger Girl, Serendipity Jones, has to make a life for herself after things don’t go as planned when she left the farming commune she had called home.

I am hoping for some excitement as she seems to be making a name for herself as a sharpshooter in a lawless, corrupt city. Keeping my fingers crossed about the ending of this YA book, I think it’s going to be good!

Never an easy choice when your a slow reader. It’s a huge commitment.🤣 But I am thinking I am going with Shoe Dog by Phil Knight. It is a memoir by the creator of Nike. Being a proud Oregonian(Nike’s birthplace), I am ashamed I have let this sit on my shelf for the last year without picking it up.

Ryan would like it noted that even though I’m the one blogging about books, he already read this book, like a year ago. 🙄

📚What have you been reading at story time?

I love to throw this little twist in to WWW Wednesday’s, just because I love our preschool books! I think parents enjoy seeing what we’re reading too, so I post it on our daycare page most days.

This has been the past week of reads at story time. We love anything with Pete the Cat, and The Koala 🐨 Who Could is an adorable newer title! My favorite preschool book this past week is(of course) Peppa Pig and the Camping Trip! 🔥

Thanks for stopping by, hoping my blog finds you in a good place this Wednesday. Happy reading and blogging everyone!

  1. These look like some great books, I absolutely loved the Percy Jackson series when I was younger! They are definitely part of why I’m still so fascinated by Greek mythology. At the moment I’m reading The Alchemist by Paul Coelho. It’s incredibly inspiring (I found it on the Goodreads list of 100 books to read in a lifetime) but also nice and short for busy schedules 🙂

  2. This is a wonderful week, Lana! Don’t be ashamed for letting a book sit for a year! I have no idea how long some of mine have been sitting! 💕 I’m always behind and haven’t read the Riordans either! Happy reading, my friend!

  3. Exposure by Helen Dunmore, shared by our book group. Spy cold war thriller with strong female character, great read. Gonna try The Dry by Jane Harper, recommended by new group member. Anyone read it?
