Book Haul!📚

Ryan and I went to St. Vincent DePaul this morning to look at their used books. I was on a mission to find as many Newbery Award books as I could find. I was so excited to actually leave there with 32 of the 96 award winning titles for only $29.

If you missed my post this morning you can find it here. My goal is to read all of the  Newbery Award Books. This award has been given out since 1922 so there are almost 100 titles to read. Luckily they are all easy children’s chapter books. Hopefully it doesn’t take me too long…

Here is the list of books I was able to track down today…

  • The Witch of Blackbird Pond by Elizabeth George Speare
  • The Door in the Wall by Marguerite de Angeli

  1. I have read everything on your list 🙂 Several I liked, many I didn’t. For me, awards are nice but simply means they best represented the time they earned the award. It’s also very much boils down to personal opinion though too. Enjoy!

      • I mainly read kids books…the new YA push to adult reading is pushing it though…lol. I really like Konigsburg’s book, anything by Cleary is good, Miss Frisby is good, I still remember when I first read Julie of the Wolves, but my favorite on your list was The Door in the Wall.

      • Awesome! Awesome! I’m so excited to know you like children’s books too! ☀️☀️☀️

      • 💗💗That’s cool! It’s not all I read, but I do love YA and children’s. Have you read The Wild Robot? Or The Girl Who Drank The Moon? I loved those…

      • I have read a lot of adult too, but not lately…lol. I have read the second one but not the first. I find myself becoming more selective in the adult books I read. I rather like what is left to the imagination in kids books.
