August’s Owl Crate

There seems to be so many different book clubs to subscribe today. I’d have been in heaven almost any one of them when I was a teen. Ive decided to give a few a try, to sample their kits. This month…

Owl Crate

This month’s selection of goodies came in an adorable box, packaged almost like a gift for myself..

This month’s book is a signed copy of Grace and Fury by Tracy Banghart.

The synopsis:

Serina Tessaro has been groomed her whole life to become a Grace—someone to stand by the Heir to the throne as a shining, subjugated example of the perfect woman. It’s her chance to secure a better life for her family, and to keep her headstrong and rebellious younger sister, Nomi, out of trouble. But when Nomi catches the Heir’s eye instead, Serina is the one who takes the fall for the dangerous secret her sister has been hiding.

Trapped in a life she never wanted, Nomi has only one option: surrender to her role as a Grace until she can use her position to save Serina. But this is easier said than done… A traitor walks the halls of the palazzo, and deception lurks in every corner.

Meanwhile, Serina is running out of time. Imprisoned on an island where she must fight to the death to survive, surrounded by women stronger than she is, one wrong move could cost her everything. There is no room for weakness on Mount Ruin, especially weaknesses of the heart.

Thrilling and captivating, Grace and Fury is a story of fierce sisterhood, and of survival in a world that’s determined to break you.

My thoughts:

I think this is an adorable monthly book gift for a teenager. All the little gifts included in the package could definitely inspire a younger reader or be a fun gift for yourself if your a much older YA book lover like myself! I would have adored this as a young teen.

I have just received this month’s package so I haven’t read this book yet! 💗

Do you subscribe to Owl Crate? Which book club should I try next? Have you read Grace and Fury? Thanks for stopping by…

Happy Reading!

  1. Shoot, I wish I had time for pleasure reading, I miss it so. I have been trying to get through the same two books for months and also to finish a book online for a fellow blogger. I spend an insane amount of time online, trying to get through my emails and other distractions like facebook and Words With Friends. I also have classes I’m trying to finish, other writing to do….

    • I try to stay away from Facebook except for my daycare page. It seems like their is always drama on there in my circle of family and friends. I used to love words with friends, it’s fun! For me to find time reading I wake up at 4 am and from 4-6 that’s my reading time. ☀️

  2. On your adventure into book clubs if you happen to come upon a great children’s book club let me know. I wouldn’t mind getting my twin granddaughter’s started in one. They are six months old and we have all started reading to them.

    • That’s a wonderful idea… I will let you know if I find an adorable one for littles…I loved getting books in the mail as a kid! It definitely made me a book lover! 💗I can’t wait to be a grandma, having four boys I am hoping for a granddaughter some day… 😍

  3. I love that you take that time to read early in the morning, Lana! And this box is adorable! How fun! I have subscribed to some boxes before but not this one. Right now I just get two, Book of the Month and Quarterly from Page Habit. The Quarterly comes with some cute gifts, too, but not this cute! ♥️ Look forward to your thoughts on the book!

    • Thanks Jennifer! I will check out Page Habit! I was planning on Book of the month too! When is your time for reading? That morning time is sacred to me, sometimes if I’m super excited about a book I’m reading I will get up earlier! lol

      • If you want to sign up for BOTM with my referral, I think we each get a free book? But if you already have someone to sign up under, no worries at all. I haven’t done a referral before but figured I would mention it to you. 😊 I read any chance I can fit it in, but I read the most at night. ♥️ I get up at 5 now, but you are making me want to get up at 4 to read! 😂

      • Yes! Of course! I’ll sign up under you! Just tell me what to do..😊
I’d read more at night but I just get too sleepy..

      • I just emailed you a link from my other email! All you have to do is click the “redeem now” button when you sign up and we both get a free book! I get three books a month. One is included with your credits, and then I get two extra, only $9.99 each for a hardback brand new book. Free shipping too. Can’t beat it! I understand about getting sleepy! I fall asleep with my Kindle all the time. 😂

      • Fun fun! I’ll do it right now… it’s guys night out for pizza! No distractions! Lol You can’t beat that price! 😁 My Kindle was in my bed this morning when I woke I’ve been reading that book you linked me to. I love reading the kindle in bed, I just only get to read a few pages in before I’m asleep.. 🤣

      • Yayyyyyy and yayyy about the book too! hope you are loving it! I am loving it and really want to be reading it now! And yay for guys’ night out! I hope your little one that doesn’t like to go normally has a good time!

      • Awe, Jayden! Yes, me too! 😊 The book is getting good, I’m super into it, I need to know what happened!! 😁
