Synopsis:

Taken from Goodreads:

The follow-up to Rain-tree’s sparkling debut Perfectly Undone, Midnight at the Wandering Vineyard brilliantly meshes the provocative relationship fiction of Jennifer Weiner with the nuanced family dynamics of Karen White in this story of a young woman who reconnects with her estranged best friend to complete their teenage bucket list, but the man who came between them years ago reappears to challenge their bond once again. A young woman at a crossroads in her life returns home to her family’s vineyard in California when tragedy strikes and reconnects with her estranged childhood best friend. They decide to complete the bucket list they created the summer they were 18, the summer that saw their friendship torn apart. But when the man who came between them all those years ago reappears, it challenges their fragile new bond and pushes each woman to confront past hurts and buried truths.

My Review:

I was super excited to get a copy of this book from NetGalley in exchange for my honest review. Thank you to NetGalley, Harlequin, and the author, Jamie Raintree for this advanced copy.

I don’t usually read romance novels, so I wasn’t sure what to expect when I started this one. Wow, I was thoroughly entertained until the last page and I loved the ending. This is a great story about a young woman, Mallory with so much potential and opportunity she just doesn’t know which direction to take. She went to a great college, landed a great marketing job in New York, but something was missing.

The story is set at Mallory’s parent’s vineyard, in California where she reconnects with her childhood best friend, after a falling out before Mallory left for college. She also is surprised to see the man that broke her heart before she left that summer for school.

Through the book Mallory is trying to find herself, decide who she is and what path she wants to take in life. It’s a topic we can all relate to at some point. I felt like her mother as the book went on, I wanted her to make a good decision! And she does…

I loved the characters in this book, the vineyard, how original the story was and also Mallory’s decision in the end! I wasn’t quite ready for it to end!

Have you read Jamie Raintree’s previous novel Perfectly Undone? Do you plan to read Midnight at the Wandering Vineyard? It comes out next Spring, on March 26, 2019.

Happy Reading friends!
