Otter Family Along The River

Weekend at Camp

Friday when we got to our campsite it was pretty windy and rainy so we stayed in the trailer and watched a movie and listened to the storm blow over. This morning the skies cleared up and we were able to go hiking around my favorite wildlife spot!

Suislaw Recreation Area

I absolutely love our short little day hikes here! We have been so fortunate to see so many little critters. Just this summer, we’ve seen beavers, foxes, coyotes, one juvenile black bear, and tons of birds.

Today though, I had my best time photographing a family of otters.  We watched them from over the bridge(where we spotted the fox, last weekend) and we followed them up river for over an hour. I will upload more tomorrow, but here are a few of my favorites!

Many of the photos I took have them eating fish! They ate several while we watched them. 💗 There are 2 in this photo. You can click to enlarge..

They were directly under the bridge in this one. You can even see his paws 🐾 and tail under the water.

Tomorrow I’ll have the rest uploaded. I have some family photos of them all together. Hope you enjoyed these, I sure had fun taking them!

Hope everyone is making the most of your weekend! I’m fighting off a slight head cold, but I’m still planning to sit by the campfire tonight, it’s Saturday night, how can I miss it…?

Happy Camping & Happy Reading Friends!💗
