Synopsis:

Taken from NetGalley

Seaside Sanctuary is supposed to be a safe place for marine animals, but suddenly dolphins are getting sick-and no one can explain why. Since Elsa Roth spends all of her time at the sanctuary, a perk of her parents’ jobs there, she’s well acquainted with all the animals. Elsa is especially worried about Star, a young dolphin she bonded with after seeing him in his wild pen. When the crisis intensifies, it’s up to Elsa to get to solve the mystery before it’s too late for Star and the rest of the dolphins.

My Review:

For a young reader this is great little chapter book about a marine wildlife refuge known as Seaside Sanctuary. When the dolphins all become sick, everyone is racing to figure out the source of the illness before they get worse, including Elsa, the marine biologist’s Daughter and her friend Olivia.
This story talks about illegal dumping of toxic waste and how it affects marine animals. Young readers concerned about environmental issues will be inspired by this story!
Thank you to Capstone and NetGalley for this advanced copy. My opinions are my own.
