Top 10 Tuesday~ 10 Things on My Holiday To Do List

As nice as it is to get together with family, the week before the holidays can be pretty hectic and stressful. While I was making my list for the week it hit me, this would make a great Tuesday list!

  • Bake

I’m not as big on baking as I used to be. I will probably make a few batches of cookies with the boys this weekend. I’d love to make some pie but no one but me would eat it. Lol

  • Plan Holiday Crafts

This is mainly for our preschool we really step up the crafts on a few different holidays. I love crafts for Halloween, Christmas and Valentine’s Day. 4BDFDA1C-6146-4CBB-86A8-309168CD9027

  • Make a fleece blanket for my brother

About 15 years ago I made my brother one of those fleece blankets where you tie the knots all the way around it. He’s been asking for another one for a while now. So I need to do this!

  • Come up with something for my mom?

I am not sure what to get my mother, I am leaning toward tickets to the Seafood and Wine festival on the coast this February. Unless I can think of a fun subscription box for her. Any ideas?

  • Meet up with Santa before our party this Friday and next Monday evening.

Every year we hire a Santa to visit our preschool. He will be visiting us this Friday afternoon. It’s so much fun! I think it is the one thing that really puts me in the mood for the holidays!

  • Catch a few more holiday movies

There are a few we always end up watching: Christmas Vacation, Christmas With the Kranks, And The Family Man is my favorite. 8AE020C7-50E3-42A3-B3A3-BF9ED2DB93B2

  • Last minute shopping

Target, Costco, Trader Joe’s… they may all be on my last minute shopping! 🛍

  • Take a drive to look at Christmas Lights

This is a family tradition. We will stop for hot drinks and Ryan will drive us around for an hour or 2.

  • Go to the liquor store for our family holiday party

Its always fun to have special holiday drinks with the family. I like White Russians.

  • Wrap all presents 🎁

I am about halfway done with all my present wrapping. Hopefully I haven’t forgotten anyone and the kids don’t mess with any of the packages!

What is your favorite holiday tradition? Who is the hardest person in your family to shop for? Do you hang mistletoe?

Thanks for stopping by! What’s on your list?

  1. We used to go look at lights, I used to like eggnog and so did my youngest-not so much any more. I have a big Scrabble board on a lazy susan, maybe someone will play that with me. I could grab my Dad and make him go look at lights with us. I know of several boxed ideas, one is actually called Boxed and there is a wine company that does a subscription also. I’ll have to look it up again. I’m sure your week will be stressful with all those kiddos! Just do what you can and don’t over-think it. Have a cookie party with a girlfirend and share a glass of wine, makes it so much more fun!!

    • That’s a great idea Kim! I will look that up.. And I have the very same scrabble board! I used to love playing scrabble with my mom. I don’t have anyone to play with anymore, Ryan isn’t a board game person. We should play each other on words with friends! 😁
It’s super stormy here this morning. The wind and rain woke me up at 3 am this morning. So I’ve been out in the living room with the dogs reading…
