Throwback Thursday~The Lion King

I thought this week I’d reminisce just a bit…

25 years ago I had my first of 4 boys, Jordan. (For whatever reason I named all my boys “J” names. I’m not really sure why. Jordan, Jared, Joey and Jayden. But that’s a different story all together).🤪AC0FE7CB-EFD5-4820-B691-356BCF091398

Anyway, Jordan had two favorite Disney movies that he watched constantly and he would tote around the VHS case to them wherever he went, The Lion King and Aladdin. We had to buy these two movies twice as we wore them out! To this day I know them by heart.

In 1997 Lion King first appeared on Broadway, won tons of awards, is the 3rd longest running show on  Broadway and highest grossing of all time.

I really wanted to go and see it. But of course that wasn’t an option for me. So instead I just watched bits and pieces on tv.

Forward to this holiday season, and Christmas was a rough one for Ryan and I but my parents blew me away when they got us tickets to see The Lion King here in Eugene. EB149933-F698-4301-8BD8-10561ECA4642

Usually we are camping, hiking or heading to a basketball game with the boys, so this is a big deal for us. I still don’t even know what I’m going to wear. 😆

So that’s what’s on my mind this morning, going to see The Lion King tonight. Have you seen this performance?

Thanks for stopping by this morning! Have a great Thursday!

  1. Seen the stage show last year.

The first scene is breathtaking- you are in it from the first scene to the end. Such an incredible stage show. Loved it- saw the stage show in elementary school, but don’t remember so I wanted to see it again- that is why I watched it last year. Glad I did.

  2. The stage presentation was fabulous, was it not? We managed to see it on Broadway in 2012. Unbelievable. My kids were big fans of the Lion King when it came out and my youngest (now 29) had all the gear. Allan

  3. I saw The Lion King last year when it was in Dallas and I LOVED it. The costumes are incredible and it is all I can do not to sing-a-long the whole time. You will love it! Can’t wait to hear what you think!

    • I am starting to get so excited! I’m such a nerdy morning person I had to take a nap just so I can stay up late enough… lol Thanks for sharing Laci! I hope I will have another blog about it tomorrow!
