Where Should We Go This Weekend?

“The fire is the main comfort of the camp, whether in summer or winter.”

 -Henry David Thoreau

Hi, thanks for stopping by. We’d love to get to know you better. Let me share with you a little about us…

We are first and foremost a quirky, camping family! We love to share our trips and experiences with other families and hear about yours too. When we’re not camping or exploring our state we will be found trying new local breweries, funky dive bars, taking nature walks, hitting up a festival or two and filling this blog with our quirky ideas.

Ryan and I run a home-based daycare/preschool together. We love working with our preschoolers but by the time the weekend rolls around we need to get out of the house!

We’re also a vegan family. We enjoy finding new and easy recipes or restaurants to try, and hearing from vegans around the world.

We have 2 boys still at home, 10 and 8. Joey the older one of the two is homeschooled while Jayden is in an inclusive class at his school. Combined between us, Ryan and I have 6 amazing kids!

We are both introverts. The best time of the day for us is super early in the morning, reading, writing and sharing a pot of uninterrupted, coffee time.

I’ll warn you now, we can be a bit quirky.

🔥 Share with us YOUR favorite camping spots. We love reading about your trips, and getting ideas for our next trip!

  1. Mine is a gravel/sand bar on the Big River after an all day float. Favorite camping spot in. Missouri State Parks is Silver Mines near Fredricktown, MO. I did a blog on it.

  2. Thanks for dropping by and taking time to read about our adventures. We loved Oregon, will be passing through again soon on our way back to Ontario (Canada). We are currently on Vancouver Island, B.C. in the Living Forest Oceanside Campground – it is magnificent. Nice to get to know you. We have a son named Jayden also – slightly older though (30, lol.)
